Ħ History of Service
Since its inception, the Foundation has been a leader in providing community based day habilitation for adults with developmental disabilities in Georgia. For twenty years, FEA has opened its doors Mondays – Fridays offering life skills to pre- vocational programs including specialized training in its day program to provide support for a population that has now grown to over sixty (60) individuals 18-60 years of age.
It was also in 1997 when FEA was awarded a formal contractual relationship with the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR). Today the Day Program continues to be one of the few private DHR contractors in Georgia where people with developmental disabilities and severe behavior disorders are openly accepted and allowed to thrive.
As pioneers, creating the model as it grow, FEA has brought together a multidisciplinary team of professionals and par-professionals to provide the best practices and industry standards of care to serve this exceptional population.
FEA believes that all individuals regardless of their degree of disability have a right to live and work with dignity.
